Simkins advises Iron Maiden on strategic partnership with Pophouse

Simkins has advised Iron Maiden on its strategic partnership with Pophouse, the global entertainment and music investment company, known for its association as founding investor in the ABBA Voyage Show in East London.
Under the partnership, Pophouse has acquired a stake in Iron Maiden's publishing and master recording rights, along with the band's name, image and likeness rights.
The first creative collaboration for the partnership was the Infinite Dreams Museum Experience at the band’s recent EddFest event at Knebworth Park celebrating the band's 50th anniversary. Future plans include a major cinematic project, expanded immersive fan experiences and the development of a digital universe built around Iron Maiden's mascot, Eddie.
Iron Maiden were advised on the transaction by Euan Lawson, Ben Gisbey, Louise Jordan, Luke Bridges and John Talbot.
Partner Euan Lawson commented: “This was a complex and innovative deal. Iron Maiden is one of the world's most iconic bands and they have extremely exciting plans for the future. Working closely with the band’s management, we helped put together a deal structure that will facilitate and finance those plans, while always preserving the unique and special character of Maiden’s music and iconography.”
