Gurpreet is an Associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, an experienced and skilled commercial litigator acting for both claimants and defendants. She is often described by clients as being “extremely approachable” and “a skilled litigator with the ability to take a commercial approach to litigation”. Her focus is on providing clients with clear legal advice as well as advising on strategy in order to achieve the desired outcome.
Having worked in the City for 8 years before joining Simkins in 2012, Gurpreet has developed a range of specialities, and has particular expertise in contractual disputes, property litigation and professional negligence claims.
Recent cases include:
- bringing injunctive proceedings on behalf of a French distribution company concerning a dispute over rights to distribute the release of a highly popular television series;
- acting for a number of claimants on a dispute arising out of the terms of a Share Purchase Agreement and in particular the methodology used to calculate the earn out provisions;
- acting for a claimant in relation to the negligent lease extension of a multi-million pound property in West London;
- advising a number of lessees of their potential liability under their leases for expenditure associated with re-cladding their buildings following the tragic events at Grenfell Tower;
