Simkins celebrates Burns Night

Here’s a bottle and an honest friend!

What wad ye wish for mair, man?

Wha kens, before his life may end,

What his share may be o’ care, man?

Robert Burns, A Bottle and a Friend.

Simkins celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns last week in the usual fashion – with haggis, poetry and liberal amounts of whisky.

Many thanks to all those attended (especially those in kilts), all of whom made the event a great success.  And a special thanks to Hugh Gray for coming all the way from Tennessee to address the haggis in rousing style … if ye wish her gratefu’ prayer, Gie her a haggis!
