Commenting in City AM, Associate Stephen Cartwright discusses the privacy risks affected customers face following the recent hack of British bank and fintech company Revolut.

"While Revolut has stated that only a limited number of customers were affected by this incident, for those individuals the concern extends far beyond the immediate loss of privacy. Where identity documents and other sensitive information have been compromised, individuals face an increased risk of impersonation, fraudulent activity and other forms of misuse of their personal data.

"This incident serves as a stark reminder that organisations must continually review and strengthen their verification and disclosure procedures, even where requests appear to come from trusted or official sources."
