Funding and Support
If you are successful, our offer of a training contract will be subject to us receiving written confirmation that you have successfully completed the Legal Practice Course, passing each module on the first attempt.
For candidates who have yet to take your LPC, we will meet the cost of your LPC at our preferred supplier, BPP, provided that, if you subsequently choose not to join us as a trainee, you will be obliged to refund those costs to us. We expect you to discuss with us your electives with a focus on IP.
We will meet the cost of your attendance on the compulsory Professional Skills Course which will take place during the course of your training contract. We will consider the cost of any required re-attendance or re-sits at our discretion.
Please note, the way in which solicitors qualify is soon to change. Our current trainee recruitment programme is based on the traditional route to qualification but we shall be reviewing the position as and when the details of the new qualification system become clear.
Our practice is split into the following areas of law: Civil Litigation, Commercial and Company Law, Property Law and Employment Law. During your training contract, you will be given the opportunity to work in at least three areas of law. The training will be divided into seats which will normally be of six months duration but, in any event, will be of not less than three months duration. We will discuss the allocation of seats with you, but given our size and the nature of our work we are limited in the extent to which we can take individual preferences into account.
Our aim is to recruit trainees who are ambitious, motivated, considerate and collegiate; trainees who understand our core values and who seek to build upon our excellent reputation. We recognise and believe that today’s trainees can be our future partners – we encourage that focus and determination to drive our firm forward.
