Paul Oxnard

Paul is a Consultant in the firm’s Disputes group. Whilst Paul’s background was in dealing with high value commercial litigation and international arbitrations, he now handles disputes almost exclusively in the media and advertising sector.

Paul has litigated many disputes through to trial, including conducting the Cavendish v Makdessi dispute all the way through to a successful outcome in the Supreme Court (Cavendish Square Holding BV v Talal El Makdessi [2015] UKSC 67) where the law relating to penalty clauses was significantly clarified. Many cases Paul is involved in are ultimately resolved through mediation, Paul having been an early proponent of ADR.
